What is a Resort Collection?
Also known as the cruise collection, it is an inter-season line of ready-to-wear clothing produced by a fashion house in addition to the twice-yearly seasonal collections - spring/summer and fall/winter collections.
Originally meant for "wealthy" customers going on cruises or vacations in the warmer areas during the winter months, cruise collections offer light spring or summer clothing when the weather at the point of sale only calls for winter apparel. These days, they are targeted at customers who have "finished buying their fall wardrobes and are looking ahead to vacations".
